Union Sports Minister expressed satisfaction with 12th SAG progress


Union Sports Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, who is the chairman of the organising committee SAG 2016, today expressed satisfaction over the successful hosting of the first four days of the multi-discipline 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati and Shillong and hoped the remaining eight days would also pass off successfully. "Today is the fourth day. It has been a great success so far, thanks to the people of Guwahati and Shillong as well as the media involved. I hope the remaining eight days will be more successful," Shri Sonowal said interacting with the media at Dr Zakir Hussain Aquatics Complex in Guwahati today, where he watched some of the finals of the swimming competition of the SAG. He also conferred away medals to the winners. He also appreciated the people of the state for the enthusiasm they have shown for the Games. "I have interacted with some schoolchildren and all of them said they are in love with the SAG. They say they want more events of this kind in our state. It shows the love of the people of this part of the country towards sports," the minister said.
