Urban Development Ministry directs DDA to modify regulations in respect of unauthorized colonies

Ministry’s directive follows Cabinet’s approval for change of cut-off date
No Ordinance proposed by the Ministry in the matter
The Ministry of Urban Development has directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to ‘carry out the necessary modifications in the regulations for regularization of unauthorised colonies urgently’ in pursuance of the Union Cabinet’s decision extending the cut-off date for such regularization.

The Ministry while informing the DDA that the Cabinet in its meeting held on 29.12.2014 has approved to amend the Revised Guidelines of 2007 in the matter of regularization of unauthorized colonies in Delhi, has asked DDA to accordingly amend relevant clauses in the said Guidelines.

The Cabinet has decided to extend the cut-off date with reference to the existence of unauthorized colonies in Delhi from 31.3.2002 as mentioned in the Revised Guidelines of 2007 to 1st June, 2014, for the purpose of regularization.

The Ministry of Urban Development seeks to clarify that no proposal for issuance of an Ordinance for regularization of unauthorized colonies was made for the approval of Union Cabinet, as the same was not required. The proposal made was to amend the Revised Guidelines of 2007, which were earlier approved by the Cabinet, for considering the unauthorized colonies that have come into existence further to 31.3.2002 for regularisation.
