Eight Awards on stake at 45TH IFFI

The 45th edition of International Film Festival of India is being held from 20th November to 30thNovember at Goa. The 2014 edition of the Festival is 11th in a row at Goa beginning with 35th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in November 2004 in the State. From now onwards Goa will be the permanent venue for organizing IFFI.
Of the films being screened at festival, fifteen shortlisted films   will contend for the following awards at the 45th IFFI:
BEST FILM
The Award carries a cash prize of Rs. 40,00,000/- to be shared equally between the Director and the Producer. Director to be given the Golden Peacock and a certificate in addition to the cash component. Producer to be given a certificate in addition to the cash component.
BEST DIRECTOR
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,00,000/-
BEST ACTOR (MALE)
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-
BEST ACTOR (FEMALE)
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-
SPECIAL JURY AWARD
The award carries a Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,00,000/- given to a film (for any aspect of the film which the jury wishes to award/acknowledge) or an individual (for his/her artistic contribution to a film). The award, if given to a film, will be given to the Director of the film.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The prestigious award consisting of a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, Certificate, shawl and a scroll is conferred upon a master filmmaker for his/her outstanding contribution to cinema.
CENTENARY AWARD FOR INDIAN FILM PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
This prestigious award consisting of a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, Certificate, shawl and Medal (Silver Peacock) is conferred upon an Indian film personality for his/her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
CENTENARY AWARD
Silver Peacock, a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/-, (To be given to a feature film that reflects a new paradigm in motion pictures in terms of aesthetic, technique or technological innovation). Feature films falling in the categories of International Competition, Cinema of the World and Indian Panorama will qualify for this award.
